About
Chantel Bann is a Sydney based Musician, Photographer & Writer.
With a lifelong interest in all things creative, Chantel's main desire became to combine her passions for music and photography and the bulk of her work now centres around live music photography.
Chantel regularly writes and photographs for online music sites FasterLouder and The Dwarf, and has also been published in The Brag and Australian Guitar World.
Some of the artists she has photographed include Tori Amos, Faith No More, Lily Allen, Les Claypool, Slayer, Megadeth, Amanda Palmer as well as a plethora of other local and international talent.
Chantel has also interviewed Angelo Moore (Fishbone), Kat Bjelland (Babes In Toyland, Katastrophy Wife), Tori Amos, Amanda Palmer (The Dresden Dolls), Kristin Hersh (Throwing Muses, 50 Foot Wave), Melt Banana (Japan) and Emilie Autumn.
After studying classical guitar for 6 years, singing in a Bulgarian Women's Folk Choir, managing and promoting local Australian artists and writing and performing with a number of bands, Chantel now has settled in her position as vocalist/keyboardist in the Sydney based experimental 7-piece, SHANGHAI (currently recording and touring) and quirky pop duo, THE RED ROOM (currently recording).
